We celebrate St.Brigid

7th Feb 2022

The Pupils in Primary three and four celebrated Saint Brigid’s day by learning how to make St. Brigid’s crosses. Thank you to Danny Joe for going out on his quad and bringing in rushes.  It’s a difficult skill to learn as the boys and girls found out. Primary 3 watched Mrs O’Hare and Primary 4 had a go themselves. We listened to stories of Saint Brigid and learned that she was the first native born Irish saint. She was a true role model for Irish people. We learnt about the kindness that St Brigid showed to others and how she liked to help others. Our class gave an assembly on the well known story St. Brigid’s Cloak. Well done to all the boys and girls who had to fill into other roles and read lines very quickly due to absences. There was lovely singing from everyone with the catchy Kindness Song and we finished off with A Song for St. Brigid.
