The Tiny Seed 🌱
21st Apr 2026
The children in Room 3 enjoyed a wonderful art session inspired by The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle. We explored colour mixing by using red and yellow paint, watching with excitement as we mixed them together to make orange.
To create the flower petals, the children used milk bottle tops, swirling them in the paint to print circular shapes, just like the bright colours in the story. For the stem and leaves, the children carefully used their index fingers, developing fine motor skills while adding detail to their artwork.
The activity encouraged creativity, sensory exploration and lots of discussion about how plants grow. The finished flowers were bright, bold and full of character - just like our enthusiastic young artists!
