St. Patrick's takes part in Northern Ireland does The Daily Mile Santa Run
The Daily Mile™ are hosting a NI Daily Mile Santa run day across all schools & early years settings as they want pupils across Northern Ireland to get active together, and connecting the importance of being active for our mental health. In light of the covid-19 pandemic, mental health awareness, especially in children and young people, and its relation to physical activity, is incredibly important.
Our school Eco Team helped create awareness of the event, made a timetable to ensure every class in our school was involved and created stickers for all the children to wear to celebrate taking part in todays event. Each class also received a certificate of participation. The Eco Team meet with the Deputy Chair of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, Brenda Brewster, Health Inequalities officer and Local Councillor Gerry O’Hare.
