Advice and Support regarding Special Needs

The school aims to provide beneficial advice, support and resources to families during this difficult time.

All Education Authority Special Educational Needs team members are working from home. While it will not be possible for them to provide a visiting service, they are working hard to support all their service users.

Education Authority offer Pupil Support Services including:

  • Autism Advisory and Intervention Service
  • Literacy Service
  • Sensory Service 
  • Early Years Intervention Service
  • SEN Inclusion Service
  • Language and Communication Service

  • What they will do:
  • Universal support –this will be available to all service users
  • General advice and information, signposting to digital resources
  • Targeted support – this will be available to families of children referred to the service by the Early Years SEN Panel,
  • Tailored advice and guidance relating to an individual child, provision of digital resources

Also, RISE (NI) (Regional Integrated Support for Education) provided by the SHSCT has updated their website with lots of very helpful leaflets and resources in relation to coping with COVID 19 outbreak in the family home, as well as advice in relation to speech and language therapy, social, emotional and behaviour needs support, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
