Prinary 3 and 4 talk about feelings
19th Oct 2025
Primary three and four are learning about their feelings by being able to describe and name how they are feeling. They have been following the Barnardo's PATHS program which the school invested in last year. The program helps children identify and understand a wide range of feelings through its lessons. everyone to talk about and name yup They talk about both comfortable and uncomfortable feelings. No feeling is ever a bad feeling. They have also been learning what to do if they are feeling worried or something as bothering them. The message is always to tell a trusted adult at home or in school. A worry won't just disappear unless you tell someone. A trusted adult can always help. Over the last number of weeks the children listened to stories such as Worrysaurus, Ruby's worry, The Big Bag of Worries and Elmer, as well as stories on individual feelings. The class did a beautiful display on Elmer the elephant. They heard about Elmer wanting to be the same as everyone else and fit in but then discovered her true beauty was her uniqueness and that being the same as everyone was boring. Lots of life lessons discussed. We hope we can demonstrated tolerance and kindness towards each other. Our class motto is: "Give respect, get respect and be Kind."
