Primary three are enjoying the topic of bread for their World Around Us! Today we tasted different breads from around the world. We also tried some of Mrs Austin’s homemade Strawberry and Rhubarb Jam which she made from her gardens fruit!
We scored the bread out of 5 and were all able to pick a favourite! We looked at the colours and textures of the breads. Some were smooth, some were thick some thin, others were rough. The breads were different colours too- some brown, yellow or white.
The breads we tried were: Bagel- Poland, Boule- France, Brioche- France, Ciabatta- Italy, Crumpet-England, Gifflar- Iceland, Naan- Central Asia, Pitta- Mediterranean, Tortilla- Mexico and Central America and Wheaten- Ireland.
