P6 are Bucket Fillers! (Article 2, 12 and 19)
18th Nov 2020
This week is anti-bullying week. Children throughout the school are learning about the concept of being a bucket filler, not a bucket dipper.
"Bucket fillers" are those who help without being asked, give hugs and compliments, and generally spread their love and good feelings to others. The simple metaphor of a bucket helped Primary Six understand the importance of consideration and love, particularly towards those who bully.
"Bucket dippers" rob us of happy feelings by refusing to help with a task, by saying or doing cruel things or by showing inappropriate behavior to us over and over again.
We read the story ‘How to Be a Bucket Filler’ and designed buckets, filling them with ideas of how to fill one anothers’ buckets.
