This week P2 were using numicon to help them to record the story of 7 and 8. The chidren put number 8 on the table and then add 2 number shapes on top so they can visually see which numbers add to 8. Numicon is a great support for addition. P1 were becoming familiar with the shapes and playing games to recognise each shape. The children were using the numicon mats to build patterns with the shapes. This leads to investigation work by moving the shapes around to fit together.
