This week P1 were using sorting materials to make sets of 1, 2 and 3. They were sorting things that are the same and then made sets of given numbers.
P2 were also making numbers using the numicon shapes. The boys and girls are familiar with the shapes up to 10 but today they worked on making numbers to 20. They were using the appropriate mathematical language saying “10 and 3 more makes 13” but when they came to number 20 there was some thinking time and problem solving. With a little encouragement to work together the boys and girls were able to see 2 tens makes 20!
