Making Toast

As part of our instructional writing Primary 2 had the opportunity to make toast for their early morning break. They discussed what they would need to help them make toast first. The children then went through the various stages practically making toast. 

After a very enjoyable piece of toast the children discussed what was required to write a set of instructions. The children knew that their instructions required 'bossy' words and that each instruction needed a number. After a shared writing session the children wrote their own instructions independently.
