Hard Luck Camogs!
Yesterday our camogie team travelled to Burren to the Cumann a nBunscol County Final to play St Patrick's Ballygalget.
Our girls worked hard to hold the lead at the half time finish, displaying strong team work and stamina in the intense heat. The second half proved to be a tougher battle with a lot of talent displayed by all our girls but unfortunately, a late goal put the Ballygalget school ahead and the game finished with a 2 point defeat for our camogs! It was a gallant effort and the girls should be very proud of their performance, a team to be watching out for in the future in Clonduff!
But all was not lost for these ladies yesterday as the Down County Fleadh was on in Castlewellan, and as we all know the talent in our school is not only on the pitch! Four of the team were performing in Castlewellan before and after the Camogie Final . Cara, Ava, Katie and Aoife were competing before the Camogie final and had to make it to Burren for 12pm! (Just to add to the pressure!) Cara and Ava are now Down Champions in the button key accordion and Uillean pipes respectively! A bittersweet ending! Comhghairdeas girls!
Good luck to Emily, Cara, Katie and Aoife and all our pupils who are all competing in the Fleadh today! Go n-éirí leat!
