Connor McConville Tournament Wednesday 7th June 2023

9th Jun 2023

We had a great day celebrating our annual Connor McConville Tournament in Clonduff Park! We had 20 teams, with almost 250 children participating in the competition. The competition was played in 3 pitches and eight teams progressed to the quarter finals with every school having a minimum of 5 games.  In the semi-finals St Patrick's Mayobridge overcame St Malachy's Kilcoo while Carrick P.S. defeated St Mary's Barr.  An exciting final was played between St Patrick's Mayobridge and Carrick Primary School who both played 9 games including the final, with St Patrick's Mayobridge taking the cup for 2023!  Congratulations to St Patrick's P.S. Mayobridge!

Many thanks to Connor's parents, Roisin and Arty Noel and their family for allowing and helping us to organise this highly respected tournament every year. This year marks 33 years since Connor passed away.  Thanks to Jimmie Cousins, who keeps everything moving smoothly, to our phenomenal referees, PJ Quinn, Alan Grant and Colm Gribben.  Thanks to Clonduff GAC for allowing us to use their grounds and shop. Thanks to Ms McNeill for arranging the tournament and programme for the day.
