A little lamb

16th Mar 2024
Mrs McAleavey is very busy when she leaves our classrooms on her farm. During spring the farmers are busy helping their animals bring new life into the world and on Mrs McAleavey’s family farm they are extremely busy lambing.
Mrs McAleavey brought in one of their pet lambs. This one was a Suffolk triplet which was only three days old. The children were so excited to see the lamb (some of the children had never been near a baby lamb before). The children had the opportunity to pet or touch the lamb and then describe how it felt. Some were nervous and did not want to touch the lamb but were happy to watch from the distance. Mrs McAleavey told the children some facts and information about lambs.
We thank Mrs McAleavey and her husband for this interesting lesson.
